As part of the BUZZ project, which consists of using Noah Holtegaards head as an exhibition platform, Ghost of You consists of an interactive work, where one can scan Holtegaard’s backside with a phone and experience different digital figures pop out, generated by the motif that has been applied. The motif depicts Pepper's Ghost, who laid the foundations for holographic technology. In this way, the work exists both physically on Holtegaard’s body, but also in the virtual space, which can only be seen when the phone is pointed at their head. With this AR installation, Mez blurs the boundaries between physical reality, and questions the body, unity and existence of the digital age.

The work is inspired by Donna Haraway's Cyborg Manifesto and Legacy Russell's Glitch Feminisim: A Manifesto, which are two texts that had great impacts on both Holtegaard and Mez. Haraway writes about being a cyborg, about breaking down the binary, being two things at once, and existing outside the confines of biology in a digital world. Russel writes about breaking down our biological body, about becoming our avatar. About being a glitch, and the radical act of existing in a body that does not fit into a heteronormative society. With Ghost of You, this fantasy of being a cyborg, a glitch, is made real.

In continuation of the exhibition, we also held an Open Reading Circle at Buens Bogcafe, which is Denmark's first LGBTQ + bookstore, where we invited people to read Donna Haraway's Cyborg Manifesto and Legacy Russels Glitch Feminisim: A Manifesto with us.
