The video work The Good German in me is at work is an examination of the intangible heritage that comes with German subjectivity and how it sometimes contrasts with the Danish one. It is e.g. legitimate to put Danish flags in the birthday layer cake, where, in contrast to the German look, completely different conditions apply. From a space somewhere between academic knowledge production and personal positioning, the video work unfolds an inner monologue about navigating the world with the stories and burdens one inherit from a German background and how it shapes view of oneself and the responsibilities you take with you out to the world.
